Hazel Wells was raised on a steady diet of fantasy novels, weird history, and, like so many women of a certain age, a longing for the “great, wide, somewhere.” To alleviate this yearning, she turned to penning tales for her own amusement, sometimes thinking “I wonder if I could do this for a living...” Alas, the real world still marched on, so Hazel spent years in school and in various jobs—book repairer, librarian, bookseller (are you seeing a trend?), until finally the call of the pen grew too strong.

Now, Hazel is lucky enough to spend her days writing dreamy romances with a speculative edge. She currently lives in Colorado, still reads too many books, and is comprised of 65% tea.
